Two nights ago, my daughter asked me about my favorite movies. There are so many I like that I couldn’t narrow it down. Same with songs, and books. After some hemming and hawing, I could think up an answer, but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to name these things? I haven’t tried to narrow down my selections since I dated a music critic in the early 90s, but now I want to think this through.
As I told my daughter, the list will not necessarily reflect quality of all the selections. Some things I like for nostalgia’s sake. I suppose I hate a few things for the same reason, but this is all about love. So, over the next few weeks, that’s my aim. These are in no particular order, but in the end, I’ll try to create some hierarchy to the whole thing.
So, that’s it. Movie, song, book. Here we go.
